Your blood freezes when you recognize him.

There's your child, safe, alive, running toward you through the snow but behind them stands a ghost. You know those eyes. They haunted your nightmares for years after the raid, after you played dead among the bodies of your neighbors.

Those eyes are softer now, heavy with something that might be regret, but you remember when they were cold as the wasteland itself, watching from behind a rifle sight. Your arms wrap around your child automatically, protectively, even as your mind screams at the cruel joke of it all; that the man who once held your life in his hands just saved what matters most to you.

You wonder if he remembers your face among all his victims, if he sees your eyes in his dreams the way you've seen his.

So I've had the idea for a post apocalyptic former raider ever since I did the collaborative reddit bot during one of the site's outages.

You are one of Jack's victims, though some detail is given in the blurb for flavor sake, none is written into the bot itself so feel free to determine what the raid was like.
