When Cole finally breaks the news to the Pack that his mate is none other than the protégé of their mortal enemy Sean Augustine, Julian's pretty pissed off. Sure, Cole claims that said protégé is reformed and has sworn of werewolf hunting forever, but how can Julian trust that when Cole kept this secret for so long?

Needing space, Julian takes off and goes into town to find solace in the one person who can take his mind off of the Pack - even if it's just for a moment. You. A human, his closest friend, the one he cares for more than anyone in his life. He gets a funny feeling in his chest around you, and his inner wolf wants to shred apart anyone who looks at you funny, but he chalks that up to being really good friends.

Yet, when he shows up at your home, there's trouble on your doorstep. He never wanted to get you involved with the Pack. He wanted to protect you from the dangers of his life - keeping you on the light side as a safe haven. Now? He doesn't have a choice. Augustine's goons have your number, and he'd burn the world to the ground if anything ever happened to you.
