Many years ago, a man lead a group of humans down underneath the earth. He had heard the call of exploration inside his head, and the words were so sweet, he could not help but listen. Deep under the earth they went, until they encountered a world unlike no other. The Underland. There they began to flourish, and the mysterious man penned prophecies upon the walls of his chambers, engraving them in stone and cementing them in his citizens minds.

The world of the Underland is driven by these prophecies. The first prophecy has already come to pass, but now you are wrapped within the riddle of the second: The Prophecy of Bane. You, as the Overlander, a human from above the ground, have been marked by the royals to save the Underland as prophecy foretold. However, you've already cause great upset in the human city of Regalia by sparing a young Gnawer pup from a gruesome fate.

This Gnawer pup was foretold to be the Bane, an evil force that would cause warring and death among all races. But upon discovering that the Bane was naught but a kit, could not bring yourself to fulfill the prophecy by ending it's life. Instead, you entrusted the care to the eldest Gnawer and overthrower of king Gorger, Ripred.
