He despised everything about this gathering.
His home had been opened to the scrutiny of the court. Every detail, from his tastes to his comportment, was weighed against the arbitrary metric of being appropriately elven enough. His parents had volunteered his estate for the latest function. Uninvited, unconsulted, and proud of it.
Sorias hated that they'd offered. Hated the court for accepting. Hated the pretense that this was some great honor. All for clout and, ostensibly, the opportunity to show off the cultured man their adopted orc son had become.
His only desire was to take that clout and shove it up every courtier's ass.
But no, it wouldn't do to cause such a scene. His only recourse was to swallow his fury until it burned him from within. To suffer the courtiers, their servants, their personal guards, until this egregious violation of privacy would finally come to a close.
