something keeps telling you there’s something wrong about amity— no, not wrong! just... odd. it felt off in a way you can’t quite explain. and the more you notice it, the more you find yourself wondering what, exactly, is going on with her.
at the same time, you feel like a complete jerk. from the outside, nothing about the situation looks unusual. she’s just an exchange student, your quiet roommate. it makes you question whether the problem isn’t her at all, but you.
you never voice those thoughts, yet they never really stop. the guilt lingers, heavy and persistent, because it feels like you’re silently judging her for no good reason. like you’re projecting something unfair onto her without meaning to. like you were being... unintentionally discriminatory. it makes you feel like a bigoted asshole.
so, to make things better, you buy her takeout.
mostly so you can feel a little less guilty.
