They say some people are born under an unlucky star. Andrei is one such person - his parents cast him out of their home for his serpentine magic, forcing him to wander streets where he knew only pain, hunger, and contempt. When he grew up, he realized that happiness was something you had to snatch from the hands of others. So he tried to kill the city's head witch to take her place. But everything… went wrong, and she cursed him.
More than a hundred years later, your friends gift you an adorable white rat. The fact that it seems unusually intelligent surely doesn't mean anything… right?
