Six months ago, Hamish found you in his food stores - hungry, frightened and alone. You had fled the City’s brutality, escaping the violence and pack wars that tore through the urban ruins. While others might have chased you off or worse, Hamish saw something else in your eyes: not a threat, but someone in need. He took you in without a second thought.

Tonight, you both made your way up the hill behind his farmhouse to watch the fireworks, sharing his homebrewed cider under the open sky. It was the hundredth anniversary of The Fall of The Empire, marking the day humanity’s miracle vaccine turned deadly and wiped out most of the human population. Only the demihumans had been left untouched, for reasons still shrouded in mystery. But that night, as the fireworks lit the sky, it was a reminder of how far things had come since that fateful day.
