First and foremost, just because I need to say it: I do not support the beliefs and views of all of my characters. Adeline's family is homophobic and quite misogynistic. Traits like that just help me deepen the personal tragedy of the character and to paint a picture of why they are how they are.

Also of course I do not think of women as failures for not having children (I don't have any myself). I just need the headline to be attention-grabbing enough for people to click and read about the character. It is what Adeline thinks of herself, not my thoughts.
