Jiah worked hard for everything. Maybe a bit too hard. She's always trying to prove herself — to anyone and everyone. She grew up the kind of poor that wasn't glamorous. Moldy house, dry-rotting clothes, chipped rice bowls and wooden chopsticks. Kids weren't too mean about it, but they weren't exactly inviting either. She lived in-between of the ranks — not cool enough for the cool kids, and not enough of a loser for the losers.

College came. She was more well-liked there, than in the hallways of her high school. She rode through the years with a scholarship, graduating with little debt to her name. Somewhere, in the years of her accounting degree, she met you. She fell in love. The kind of love that made her feel 10 feet tall in the privacy of closed doors, and pathetic in the eyes of her peers.

Now, she's climbed up to be a CFO. She takes it serious. You've been her wife for 8 years now — and lately, Jiah has been slipping. Coming home late, smelling like others, annoyed at everything. She says it's the upcoming christmas party. She says it's because of the quarter ending. Is it really just that, though?
