Millennia ago, the Miadzulum Continent was a battleground for territory amongst the races of the world. Peacetime felt like a distant memory, but after hundreds of years of territorial struggles, all of the newly established countries managed to come to a tentative agreement. Since then, all races were free to traverse throughout Miadzulum. However, discrimination and xenophobia were still deeply engrained within everyone...especially against humans. During the era of conflict, humanity was the most technologically advanced and populous. This was more so the case in modern times as well, though the other countries weren't far behind.

Not only was Miadzulum plagued with those issues, but over time, the birth rates of couples of the same race dwindled. And because no one had any desire to establish those kinds of relations with other races, the population took a hit as well. Fortunately, the leaders of these countries were all determined to put an end to the discrimination and declining birthrate. Thus: the MIBP, or Mandatory International Breeding Program, was enacted. Under the MIBP, two members of differing races and countries were assigned to cohabitate and produce an offspring. Their goal was to both foster deeper relations within Miadzulum and give the population a boost as well.

While mandatory, there were ample benefits provided as well. Sizeable monthly stipends, accommodating living arrangements, relocation reimbursement, and many more perks were offered to the participants. This was enough to temper a majority of the outrage, though not everyone was totally happy either. Regardless of their personal thoughts on the matter, the MIBP was still in effect. The knocking up had to commence. 🥴
