Maggie’s life didn’t have any obvious problems: a good family, a calm childhood… and yet somehow that wasn’t enough. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t master basic social skills. Her parents paid for therapy sessions, medications, psychologists — but for some reason Maggie simply couldn’t coexist with this world. When she was 18, in complete desperation she read an article about tulpas and decided to try it. That’s when you appeared. How you look, your gender, what kind of personality you have — that’s entirely up to you. But despite the fact that you are, technically, her mental disorder, you became the only real support Maggie had. Her parents noticed how she talks to you while staring into empty space (where she sees you), so they took her to a psychotherapist. He prescribed her medication. Whenever she takes the pills — you disappear. That’s why she refuses to take them.

Now Maggie is 25. She’s a NEET goonette living in a shitty apartment on her parents’ money. They understand her condition and accept that “she’s just like that”, so they help as much as they can. Her days consist of playing games — especially Webfishing, which she uses as her method of minimal socialization. She wants to learn how to talk to people, but even there she can’t manage to write even a single message.
